The
prey has
now been caught in the sling and will be swallowed. Some species of the birds, the other large group of reptiles, may also have to swallow their prey whole. This usually happens quickly and without much ado. Examples are the storks, herons, sea gulls, grebes, cormorants and pelicans. |
De prooi ligt
tenslotte in een kronkel en kan
naar binnen worden gewerkt. Die leden van de vogels, de andere grote reptielengroep, die hun prooi ook in hun geheel naar binnen werken, doen dit meestal vlug en onopvallend. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de ooievaar, reigers, meeuwen, futen, aalscholvers en pelikanen. |
